Military Aircrew and Melanoma

New studies are coming out about how military aircrew and pilots are at a higher risk of cancer. In an article on the PBS website, they stated that these members have a 24 percent higher chance of getting any cancer. Some of the cancers they discussed were thyroid, breast, and prostate cancer. However, the percentage for melanoma was at a shocking 87 percent higher risk. This might be due to the amount of sun the crew is exposed to during flight and how much closer they are to the sun. This is a perfect example of why it is important to wear sunscreen!
